They look nice but they are "Made in China" - A REAL BUMMER ... for Lenox

These are simply beautiful salt and pepper shakers. Even if you do not have the butterfly meadow china, these are still a must have to dress up your dining room table all year long.

This salt and pepper set is real pretty. i have them next to my matching napkin holder and they really look expensive!

What a beautiful finishing touch for my Lenox Butterfly Garden spice rack set. Again the size of this set is great so you don't have to constantly refill the salt or the peper. Much nicer and a must for your useful collection.

The shakers are lovely, however there was a problem with the packaging and one arrived shattered. Amazon worked hard to correct the problem to my satisfaction.

Charmingly curvy, these fine porcelain salt and pepper shakers from the Lenox Butterfly Meadow pattern add an attractive botanical touch to any table. Though unquestionably a matched set, the shakers feature distinct flower and vine patterns created by Lenox artist Louise Le Luyer...

This was our pattern for our everyday china when we got married. While these salt and pepper shakers look beautiful on the table with all the other pieces, when it comes time to actually salt or pepper your meal, you need to be patient. It will take FOREVER to get enough salt on your dish, as you'll be shaking for a while. My husband wishes he could drill another hole or two on the top. Maybe it's an attempt to get us Americans to use less salt in our food....these are pretty to look at, just not so easy to use.

The product arrived promptly and was as advertised. It matches our current dinnerware exactly.

Very beautiful. Bigger than expected, sturdy, hardy, substantial. These were an Xmas gift for a very fussy and particular retired art professor. He loves them so you know they're great!! They were on his gift list, but he liked them even more than he thought he would.

If your dish pattern is either blue Dansk Bistro or Concerto, these salt and pepper shakers are the only ones made that go with those patterns. I wanted them for that reason, and I didn't want to pay very much for them. Amazon is currently running these on the "4 for 3" promotion whereby if you buy four items on a designated list, the lowest priced item will be free. By averaging what I spent on four items, these cost me $11.50, which is about right. The first pair came broken, and for the first time in seven years, I had to return an item to Amazon. The process was stunningly simple and fast. I had my second, perfect pair in less than a week. The reason that these don't get five stars with me is that I don't like pepper shakers with just one hole.

I bought one of these for my Mother who has collected for years. My recommendation is to save your money, as this is one of the worst. Very poorly done, appears to have been tossed together in a hurry to beat a deadline or something.

Contrary to the two reviews here, the S&P guide has met with overwhelming positive comments directed to me and Krause Publications. An incredibly detailed table of contents is found on page 4 of the book ... there's no excuse for lazy reading by an inattentive buyer. Did they contact the two main collector resources found on page 7? Plus, there's contact info for the main contributor if readers have more questions. Did they bother to call? Or did they flip through the book, and, not finding an exact match, decide it was no good? The book is also clearly divided into shakers identified by form and by maker. There have been billions of pairs of shakers made over the last 100+ years, and the fact that these two couldn't fine their exact shakers is not surprising. This is a tool, one of many that collectors should use. Buy the book and find out for yourself.

I waited over 6 months for this lazy excuse for a guide, listing only 1000 shakers. I have about 70 from the 1940's-70's in my collection, and only found 4 in this book. By the authors own admission, he owns over 3000. Why aren't they listed? The pics are nice but the book is very poorly done. Save your money.

I am extremely disappointed. Following my mother's recent death, I came across her old collection of over 80 sets - at least 90% of which are over 50 years old. I thought this book would be of help in learning about them. NOT EVEN CLOSE! While it says it lists "More than 1,000 salt & pepper shakers...." there is no index & no table of contents. Only 1 set that I have was in this book. While there are great color pictures, and similar types are together (sort of), you have to thumb through the entire book to try to find a particular item. Then do it again... and again. This is a total waste of money and a poor attempt to "Get the Shakedown on Your Collection"! I am the one who got Shook Down. I recommend trying to find a copy to look through before buying this. I wish I had.
